Day 18
In your eyes I see a darkness that torments you and in your head where it dwells. I'd give you my hand if you'd reach out and grab it. Let's walk away from this hell.

Day 17
A reflection of an exact image is the closest thing to you - so that you can see it - but it's far enough away so that you really understand it. -Wes Bentley

And the day came when the risk it took to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom. -Anais Nin

If a blade of grass springing up from a field has the power to move you... Rejoice, for your soul is alive. -Eleanora Duse

Day 5
Sean-Michael and I were watching my wonderful, new 7th season of Beverly Hills 90210 this morning when I got the absolutely genius idea to travel around, in search of locations from the t.v. series. We had such a wonderful time and I haven't been so excited in quite some time. A few of the places are hardly recognizable but it was still a blast! Thank you, Sean-Michael, for sitting with me through hours of traffic and chauffering me around all of Southern California. <3

365 Picture Days
I have been inspired, by the wonderful Noelle, to participate in this 365 day project. The goal, one I will attempt to complete, is to post a picture every day for the next year. Here's to the next year!

A Long Way Gone
A Long Way Gone by Ishmael Beah should be read by everyone. It is such a extraordinarily impacting book. I think it's a memoir that all should experience in order to open their eyes and hearts to some tragic happenings in our world today, and to finding the inspiration, through these pages, to do something about it.
New York City, 1998
MY HIGH SCHOOL FRIENDS have begun to suspect I haven't told them the full story of my life.
"Why did you leave Sierra Leone?"
"Because there is war."
"Did you witness some of the fighting?"
"Everyone in the country did."
"You mean you saw people running around with guns and shooting each other?"
"Yes, all the time."
"Cool."
I smile a little.
"You should tell us about it sometime."
"Yes, sometime."
